Flavor Flav is a rapper, a reality TV show star, and (surprise, surprise!) a graduate of culinary arts school. That may be just the right combination for a new restaurant in Las Vegas. Serving up home-styled foods, Flavor Flav's House of Flavor specializes in fried chicken that the owner/chef created himself.

Located off the Strip and close to downtown (across from the Boulevard Mall, Las Vegas' first mall), House of Flavor will fill you up with dishes like red velvet waffles, fried shrimp, mac 'n cheese, collard greens, and the signature fried chicken. The modest menu offers up a small selection of soul food staples, and it's take-out only. Plan on taking your food back to your destination to enjoy it.
Flav's had a passion for cooking for a long time, and before he became well-known he went to culinary school. He opened his first restaurant in Iowa, which closed, but his new location in Las Vegas is off to a good start.
Judging from the interviews he's given, Flav intends to be a hands-on participant in the restaurant's kitchen. Coming from a family that was in the restaurant business, Flav's foray into the culinary scene makes sense. He also plans to open another restaurant in Detroit.
