Creator of such cartoon favorites as Wile E. Coyote, Road Runner, and Pepé le Pew, artist Chuck Jones is someone whose work you've probably seen, but until now you may not have known about the artist behind the cartoons. A new attraction/museum at the Circus-Circus will give you a little bit of history about Chuck Jones and his impressive accomplishments, along with a chance to draw, animate, and even do voice-overs.The Chuck Jones Experience at Circus Circus — Photo courtesy of The Chuck Jones ExperienceThe new Chuck Jones Experience at the Circus Circus in Las Vegas is a family-friendly attraction. Workshops give visitors of all ages the chance to exercise their creative side. This is where you can learn how to draw the cartoon characters you remember (either distantly or recently).
Learning how to draw is only part of the experience–learning about Chuck Jones is another. This artist had a career for over 60 years, and his extensive work in movies garnered him a Lifetime Achievement Oscar in 1996. Jones helped create many well-known Warner Brothers characters: Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd and Porky Pig. This esteemed and honored artist has now inspired a hands-on experience that shares his considerable talents.
As fascinating as Chuck Jones is, the true attraction here is the chance to put pen to paper and create your own artwork. Professionals teach the daily classes that let you give a voice to your inner cartoonist, and the animation studio (look for the Acme Workshop, an apt name for the creator of Wile E. Coyote) lets you bring your artwork to life.
