Downtown Boulder City was constructed in the early 1930s. Decades later, the early buildings and their architectural style remain. Boulder City's Historic District holds over 400 vintage structures, including the Boulder Dam Hotel, which is recognized as a landmark by itself. Boulder City's Historic District is full of shops, restaurants, and galleries, making it a great place to spend some time browsing. Large parks are just a block or two away, giving people the chance to rest in the shade. One thing you won't find in Boulder City: slot machines. The city has never allowed gaming, and is one of only two Nevada cities that do not have gambling.
