With a growing demand for gluten-free dishes, Las Vegas restaurants have stepped up with a host of options for those avoiding wheat products. Not long ago, trying to eat gluten-free at restaurants could be a risky proposition, but increased awareness in kitchens throughout Las Vegas is helping more diners enjoy delicious--and safe--dishes.

Throughout Las Vegas, you’ll find restaurants either offering dedicated allergen menus, or noting which items on the menu are gluten-free. No gluten doesn’t translate into “boring,” with inventive Las Vegas chefs coming up with exceptional dishes from a variety of cuisines, including Mexican, Italian and French.

If you’re dining out in a group that includes gluten intolerant diners, several Las Vegas restaurants offer menus big enough to accommodate everyone at the table. Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab offers a good selection of gluten-free dishes, including many that use the restaurant’s signature items. Carmine’s, an Italian eatery, offers menus for several types of food allergies, including gluten intolerance--no need to skip the pasta here.

While it’s always a good idea to check ahead for any restaurant’s gluten-free options, it’s increasingly common for restaurants to be willing to accommodate requests for gluten-free versions of dishes. Chefs and kitchen staff are also more aware of cross-contamination issues, and restaurants that are especially sensitive to food allergy concerns may even detail their kitchen processes on the menu.

Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville was inspired by the singer's music and love of the beach, and its fun-loving atmosphere fits in well on the Las Vegas Strip. The three-level restaurant has five bars and live entertainment, plus a great view of the Strip. Margaritaville's easy-going atmosphere is great for casual meals and drinks. The restaurant offers a gluten-free menu that includes a cheeseburger, chicken sandwich, fish sandwich and a brownie sundae sure to satisfy anyone's sweet tooth. The restaurant is located inside the Flamingo and serves from breakfast until 2 or 3 a.m. If you're looking for some entertainment, Margaritaville has music from Thursday through Saturday, with a DJ at 8:30 p.m. and live music starting at 10:30 p.m. Even if you're not a "Parrothead" you'll find plenty to like about Margaritaville.



The atmosphere at Yard House is casual and invites you to linger over your beer while you watch the latest game. The food here goes beyond sports-bar type fare, and includes a gluten sensitive menu. Starters include chilled edamame and a spicy tuna roll. Several Entree Salads are offered, like a Grilled Chicken Kale Caesar and a Chicken Cobb Salad. Sandwiches and hamburgers range from the Classic Cheeseburger to a Kurobuta Pork Burger, with spicy candied bacon, white American cheese, arugula, blueberry ketchup with a lettuce wrap upon request. Street tacos with asada, swordfish or carnitas are offered, all served with jasmine or brown rice. Ask the server for current selections of gluten-free beer, which are often available.



As its name suggests, Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab is known for its delectable steaks and seafood. They also offer an extensive gluten-free menu full of their signature items. Gluten-free menu selections range from appetizers, salads and sides and include dishes like stone crab, Alaskan king crab, fish, scallops and several cuts of their signature steaks. Joe's gluten-free filet mignon comes in five different preparations, including a 16-ounce bone-in filet. Other beef cuts include New York, rib eye and porterhouse. Starter dish include jumbo shrimp, charred octopus and oysters on the half shell. Salad options include the King Crab Louis, with fresh hearts of palm, asparagus, onion, avocado and chopped egg and, of course, Alaskan King Crab.

New York City's legendary family-style Italian restaurant comes to Las Vegas courtesy of this spacious eatery, which offers six private dining rooms. Known for its delicious Southern Italian cuisine, all of Carmine's appetizers, entrees and desserts are large enough to share and serve two to four people. Carmine's offers a thorough menu for guests with food sensitivities and diligently notes that while they strive to accommodate every guest's needs, they don't have an allergen-free kitchen, an especially important point for those with acute allergies. Gluten-free dishes includes several pasta choices, salads and entrees like steaks, Lobster Fra Diavolo and salmon. The nostalgic atmosphere, including the walls covered with family photos, will make you feel right at home.



Located a few blocks west of the Strip, the El Dorado Cantina is a family-owned Mexican restaurant serving authentic food inspired by several regions of Mexico. The extensive menu has plenty of gluten-free selections, as well as vegan, like the street tacos, which can be prepared with a number of delicious proteins–carne asada, carnitas, al pastor, cochinita, pulled chicken--or as vegetarian with corn rajas. They come three to a platter with cilantro rice and refried or black beans. Numerous gluten-free options range from chips and salsa (as well as nachos) to the restaurant's signature dishes. With its striking Strip views and sumptuous sushi selections, it's no wonder sushi enthusiasts love Sushi Roku. One bite and it's easy to see why Sushi Roku inspires a devoted following. Executive Sushi Chef Haruhiko Takeshita selects only the best and freshest fish on a daily basis and presents his special dishes with a secret ingredient brought over from his family-owned Japanese restaurant in Gunma, Japan. Must-tries include the Yellowtail Sashimi with diced chilies and the signature Tuna Jalapeno roll, spicy tuna topped with tuna sashimi and yuzu olive oil. The servers at Sushi Roku are well trained on how to create a customized tasting menu based on guests' preferences, so if you're feeling adventurous, feel free to leave the food selection in your server's hands.



The menu at Eatt was designed by French chefs to offer healthy, gourmet recipes with seasonal ingredients. Just a short drive west of the Strip, Eatt offers a comfortable, modern setting and well thought-out and delicious menu. Careful attention has been given to note dishes that are gluten free, dairy free, nut free, organic or vegan. Gluten-free options include dishes like the octopus with marinated daikon and bok choy cabbage with molecular apple and celery spaghetti ; goat cheese tartine, with goat cheese, caramelized red onions, walnuts and honey on gluten-free bread; or the Passion Fruit with milk chocolate, a coconut biscuit, passion fruit foam and Granny Smith apple. The menu changes frequently at Eatt, but the wonderfully prepared dishes are always delicious.



CRAFTkitchen wants to provide dishes that are full of personality, and to that end they use local and, when possible, organic ingredients. After years of experience in high-profile kitchens, Chef Jaret Blinn decided to open CRAFTkitchen in 2015. Gluten-free and vegan dishes are clearly noted, and a dedicated vegan menu is offered. Gluten-free bread is available, and some menu items can be modified to be gluten-free. Breakfast and lunch are served all day. For breakfast, try the Crustless Quiche of the Day or the Short Rib Hash, made with braised short ribs, smashed potatoes, roasted sweet onions and peppers. For lunch, guests can dine on gluten-free chilaquiles or a pesto chicken arugula salad with grilled organic chicken breast, housemade pesto, pear tomatoes, parmesan cheese and pine nuts.



Acclaimed Chef Wolfgang Puck's version of a bar and grill features California-inspired dishes in a casual setting. Comfort food is a mainstay here, where you can find gluten-free chicken noodle soup, cheese ravioli and creme brulee. Other selections for gluten sensitive guests include the Seared Scottish Salmon with sunchoke puree, mixed mushrooms and a sherry reduction, or the Mesquite Grilled Ribeye, served with confit tomatoes, broccolini and peppercorn sauce. While the food comes from an acclaimed chef, the setting at Wolfgang Puck's Bar and Grill is casual and friendly. The bright, cheerful setting pairs well with the food, which is expertly crafted and full of flavor.
