About Midtown District

Thanks to some energetic business owners, this once neglected part of Reno has flourished into the hottest place in town. The Midtown District is full of excellent coffee shops, bars, restaurants and shopping. The urban bohemian vibe is enhanced by dozens of ever-changing murals and public artwork.
See & Do
Midtown is defined by its dynamic art scene. Nearly every blank wall flourishes with colorful murals that capture Reno's funky art culture. If you tour the approximately 16 blocks of Midtown with Art Spot, you will find colorful wall art and public sculptures on nearly every corner. If you have children or are a child at heart, the best attraction is The Discovery, a Nevada-inspired interactive museum. Along the way take a break at the various coffee shops.
Eat
Midtown has some of the city's newest and hippest cafes and restaurants. For breakfast, head to Two Chicks or JoStella, for an eclectic lunch, check out Laughing Planet, India Kabab and Curry or Great Full Gardens. The elegant and renowned LuLou's is a must for that special night out, but you can also have a wonderful Latin dinner at Miguel's or seafood at Feast.
Party
Midtown's nightlife ranges from seasonal art and holiday events to your basic bar crawl. Stop at some of the most unique watering holes in the city like Death & Taxes or Craft for creative cocktails and craft beers. For something unusual, spend your night at the video game haven, Press Start or the bluegrass-based Mountain Music Parlor. The Saint live music hall has an excellent happy hour and Ceol holds some challenging trivia sessions.
Stay
Midtown is mostly known for its older residential neighborhoods as well as its restaurants, shopping, bookstores and bars. If staying in the Downtown Reno area, you are just a few blocks away from the district. For non-gaming hotels, check into the beautiful Whitney Peak Hotel or the Reno Renaissance, located right on the nearby Truckee River.
Shop
Midtown is one of the best places in town to shop local. For some fun and great deals check out Junkee Clothing Exchange and its sister antique store, the Patagonia outlet, and Sundance Books. For some exotic finds, Micano Home & Garden features Latin-American art and The Isles has handmade art and food from Celtic lands. To get a peak into the Burning Man life, check out the funky Melting Pot World Emporium.
