While on the search for a restaurant with a view in Lake Tahoe, often overlooked are the excellent little restaurants without views that are dotted around the lake. While having a view of the blue water while you're eating lunch is preferred, after dark you won't be able to see the lake or the mountains anyway.

Café Fiore in South Lake Tahoe is an ultra tiny and award-winning restaurant that is the epitome of intimate (it only has seven tables.) It has also been named one of the "Best Places to Kiss in Northern California" and was awarded the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence.
Candles flicker on each table and the menu features Italian classics like eggplant crepes, aragota melodia with fresh lobster, fettucine, mushrooms and tomatoes, and scaloppini alla picatta with sliced zucchini and lemon butter caper sauce. The homemade white chocolate ice cream is a divine way to wind down your meal.
In the summer, extra tables are set up outside and the intimacy includes the beauty of the pine forests and mountain air.
