The beautiful Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe has recently completed a $20 million remodel of its rooms, some suites, the Sierra Café and the conference center. The goal of the hotel is to move more away from gaming while including itself on the list of top luxury mountain resorts in the country.

The mountain and the surrounding pine forests are the inspiration for the newly designed resort which includes Austrian white oak flooring, forest inspired wallpaper, brushed steel and dark leather. The new privacy door tags include a picture of a bear and the words "We're hibernating".

The resort has two new presidential suites that go for $1,600 a night. They are between 825 and 1,225 square feet, 55-inch flat screen TVs, panoramic views of Lake Tahoe and the mountains and soaking tubs. The Sierra Café has a centrally located fireplace and the high-tech conference center includes a 12-seat boardroom. Other additions in the works for the on-site cottages, the Lone Eagle Grille and the ballroom that has a view of the lake and is perfect for weddings.
