Located just five minutes from the Heavenly ski area and its popular gondola, their 50 stylish rooms are designed for outdoor lovers and adventure junkies, and the staff strive to be as green as possible. The hotel's amenities include dual flush toilets, recycling bins in all rooms and reclaimed barn wood trim pieces throughout the building. The hotel also has a rooftop hot tub with views of the mountains, two outdoor fire pits and a cozy lobby and intimate bar that serves hot chocolate and local brews.

A few unusual aspects of the Basecamp that make them stand out from the crowd are the communal dinners offered on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. They have indoor areas to lock up your bike and an area specifically for cleaning and locking up ski and board gear. In addition, some of their rooms are pet-friendly.

Rooms include private King and Queen rooms that contain luxurious bedding, Wifi and flat screen TVs, gear racks, organic tea and coffee and a walk-in shower. Some of the rooms have gas fireplaces. The Explorers Club Room is a dorm-style room that can sleep up to eight people on a budget. The room features a high definition projector with surround sound and an XBox 360 Kinect to enjoy after your day of exploring.
