Trunk Show has been making waves in the Tahoe area with its fun selection of Tahoe-themed souvenirs, clothing, jewelry and items for the home all made by artists in Lake Tahoe, Truckee, Reno and other areas of California. Over 30 artists display their work in this cute little store located in the Cobblestone Center in Tahoe City – right on the shores of the big blue lake. Even the owner, Jaclyn, adds a special touch to the store, with her handmade jewelry made from recycled materials.

One of the most popular designs to hit the store is the Lovin' Lake Tahoe brand. Everything from bumper stickers to sweatshirts are available with the funny-shaped silhouette of the lake emblazoned in blue with a big heart in the center. The Tahoe-shaped items are some of the best selling in the store, and they're perfect for someone who wants to take away a bit of the lake.
Other items include organic baby clothes with images of animals by Sue Gross; Tahoe Basic t-shirts and sweatshirts; Dawg House Glass items for the garden; paintings and photographs of the local area; and the exquisite Sierra Essentials aromatherapy candles, room and body sprays, lotions, balms, body washes and bath salts.

The prices for these locally made items are affordable. You can pick up some handmade lotion that smells like the local pine trees for around $12 and a Tahoe bumper sticker for around $4. Clothing goes for around $25 for a sweatshirt, and the handmade jewelry items cost around $40 to $50. More expensive items include large paintings and large format photographs for your walls. These can cost up to several hundreds of dollars.
When you check out at the counter with your Lake Tahoe loot, Trunk Show keeps with the environmental theme of the store and only uses post consumer recycled paper boxes and bags to bag your items. No plastic bags here. The store also sells a variety of locally handmade reusable totes, silverware holders, snack bags and sandwich wraps. Trunk Show also has a customer appreciation party every first Friday of the month from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. with cocktails and new collections of art.
After shopping at Trunk Show, check out the Tahoe Mountain Brewing Company in the front part of the Cobblestone Center shopping center. From there, you can take a walk down to the water's edge at Common's Beach. This area is bustling with local events and music in the summertime, and it's actually really quiet and beautiful in the winter when most people are up on the slopes skiing.
