If you're a newbie on the Lake Tahoe slopes, there are a multitude of resorts that offer ski and snowboard instruction for all ages. However, many of the popular resorts can be crowded and intimidating for someone who is tackling the bunny hills for the first time. If you want to get away from most of the experienced skiers and boarders, head to the Tahoe Donner Ski Resort for some one-on-one or group lessons.

This is the first year that Tahoe Donner will be offering ski and snowboard lessons for the tiny kids. The Snowflakes Ski School is for children 3 to 6 years old and costs $119 per day, which includes lunch and care for the children from 10 am to 3:30 pm. There is also a half-day option for $79. If you have a budding snowboarder in the family, sign them up for the Snow Shredders. This program is for the youngest snowboarders, ages 5-6 years old. A full day costs $119 and a half-day costs $79. Tahoe Donner requires that all children under the age of 13 wear a helmet when they are on the slopes.
For the adults who want a private lesson, Tahoe Donner offers programs that are tailored to your level of comfort and can include up to 4 people. A half-day private lesson is $229 and includes all gear and your lift ticket. A one-hour private lesson costs $89, if you just need a refresher. Tahoe Donner's ski and snowboard group lessons also include a full day lift ticket and equipment. Lessons start at $89 for adults and $79 for seniors. If you have your own gear, the lessons are only $45.
