About Tahoe, NV Shopping
There are many places to do some shopping in the Lake Tahoe area. There are also tons of shopping malls just down the hill in Reno. Whether you are shopping for yourself or for gifts the choices range from malls and outlets to independent clothing and artisan shops and second hand stores.
Some of the best shopping options are in Tahoe City on the West Shore. One is Boatworks Mall which has a wonderful view of the Tahoe Marina and a deck to enjoy it. The mall contains a furniture store, a bookshop, some clothing stores and an open atrium. Another mall just down the street is the Cobblestone Center. This cute little mall offers a variety of shops, a wine bar and restaurant and a theater. You can visit places like the Kalifornia Jean Bar, Salon Bella Vita, the Alpine Antiquer, the Uncorked Wine Bar and the Tahoe Rug Studio.
Another mall in South Lake Tahoe is located at the Heavenly Village. The Shops at Heavenly offer an eclectic mix of products, from fashionable lifestyle apparel and accessories to sporting goods and art. These include the Apricot Lane Boutique, the Great Outdoor Clothing Co. and Patagonia@Heavenly.
If you are more of an independent shopper and like the local scene, visit such stores as Gaialicious Global Gifts or the Thifty Hippy thrift store in South Lake Tahoe. For some gifts from Thailand, visit Jai Yen Treasures on the North Shore. There is also some fun shopping at the various boutiques and Western stores in Truckee including Grizzly's Mountain Furnishings and Jackass Ridge.
