It's hard not to feel hip at Ben's Tune Up, an almost completely outdoor bar and raman eatery converted from a bygone auto shop. Inside the 3,500-square-foot courtyard, folks take their pick of any number of upcycled seating options, including old truck seats, where they sip local beer and now sake, which is brewed onsite. Part of the fun of drinking at Ben's is appreciating the reclaimed décor, which sports repurposed wood, exposed brick, living walls and seating areas separated by ornate awnings. In the cooler months, everyone cozies around heaters and an electric fireplace while on hot, summer nights the courtyard's openness beckons the cool breeze floating down from the mountains.

- Best Nightlife: "Consider Ben's Tune Up for dinner as well as drinks. The menu has a lot of variety--including burgers, skewered meat, and Ben's famed ramen--all priced around $10 per dish."
- Recommended as Best Nightlife Because: A fabulous outdoor beer garden + a pioneer in Asheville's sake scene make this a must-visit.
