Big Eddy Tap House is a labor of love that has finally come to fruition for owners Jon and Meghann Aho, and you can see and feel that love when you visit.
Even the restaurant's name – Big Eddy Tap House – was born out of love. It goes way back to one of Jon and Meghann's most romantic memories. While kayaking, they paddled over to an eddy (whirlpool), where they stopped for a picnic and then Jon proposed. Obviously, she said yes!
Big Eddy Tap House opened over in Tualitan, Ore. – just south of Portland – during summer 2015, and they're already serving excellent food and hundreds of beverages.

Plenty of Beverage Options
Inside, you're greeted by 48 glimmering taps along the wall behind the extra long bar. Beverages include beer, cider, wine, kombucha, craft sodas and cold-pressed coffee for a total of 24 non-alcoholic and 24 alcoholic choices on tap.
You'll definitely want to bring your growler with you, so you can get it filled up while you're dining.
If you're unsure what kind of beverage to order, try a sample. At Big Eddy Tap House, samples are always free!
Kombucha fans will rejoice when they see the wide selection offered here.
If, by chance, you're not interested in any of the beverages they have on tap, you'll be glad to know that they offer over 60 other beverage choices in bottles.

Not Your Average Pub Food
To go along with the beverages, they offer a full menu at Big Eddy Tap House.
The hearty house salad is only $5 and topped with cranberries, cucumbers, tomatoes, feta and almonds.
They also have a variety of pizzas, including kids' favorites cheese and pepperoni (even though there's no separate kid's menu). The menu also features wings, pork shanks and bratwurst.
For groups and families, they offer a nice selection of sharable items, as well – like giant pretzels, hummus plates, beer-battered curly fries and tater tots.
Plus, the desserts are fabulous! Chocolate-lovers will adore the chocolate torte here.
Families Are Welcome
At Big Eddy Tap House, they have a variety of games for kids to play, like Sorry, Checkers and Battleship. They also have games for grown-ups, too, like Battle of the Sexes and Dominos. Kids are allowed to sit with you inside the tap house or on the patio out front.
After the grand opening on Oct. 10, 2015, they'll be hosting a variety of special events, including tap takeovers and meet-the-brewers nights.
