Are you ready for a positively unique night out in Portland? Just outside of the city limits and to the east is a hidden gem, which is not as hidden anymore as word spreads. The sprawling 74-acre complex is called Edgefield, and it's made up of a winery, pub, small theater, multiple bars, a pool hall, upscale restaurant, two par-3 golf courses and a spa. During the nice months, they even offer free concerts on the lawn.
Edgefield was built in 1911. It was originally a poor farm, but the McMenamin brothers purchased it and turned it into a thriving destination resort with bars around every corner and multiple options for your evening, whether you're hanging with your family, a date or a pal.

If you're looking for somewhere to have an upscale, private meal, they have Black Rabbit restaurant. At the restaurant, you can enjoy good cuisine at still reasonable prices. For $45, you can try the chef’s menu, which includes a starter, main dish and dessert. Black Rabbit offers happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and again at 10 p.m. until close.
If you really want to up the romance, then take your sweetheart for a massage at the spa, followed by a glass of wine in the heated soaking pool before heading over to Black Rabbit.
For a more casual meal, head to Power Station Pub, located right behind the main building. It's a great place to meet up with a group of people. Here, you can enjoy organic pub food made with ingredients grown on the property just steps away in the garden. There is a small theater in the back, where you can enjoy a show for $3 and still order from the pub menu.
There's a cozy winery down stairs that makes an ideal setting for catching up with an old friend. Down in the winery, you can sample McMenamins wines for just a few dollars while listening to live music. Many of the grapes used in the wines are grown at Edgefield. The winery stays open until around 10 p.m. during the week and around midnight on weekends.
