Portland’s premier classic arcade features video games from all eras in a lively yet casual atmosphere. They have over 60 classic video games and 27 pinball machines.
Popular games include Pac-Man, Killer Queen, Dr. Mario, Star Wars, Metal Slug, Mortal Kombat, Dance Dance Revolution Extreme, Tetris, The Simpsons, Donkey Kong, Paperboy and many more. Pinball games include The Addams Family, South Park, Twilight Zone – the list goes on and on.
After 5 pm each day, Ground Kontrol features a full bar. All the video games and pinball machines include cup holders to set your beverage in while you game away. They offer beer, wine, cider and mixed drinks, as well as water and soft drinks.
Happy Hour is on tap each Sunday night from 5 pm until close. If you don't want to play video games while you enjoy your beverage, you can hang out in the lounge area with lighted tables. If you want to reserve a table, reservations begin at $25.

They also have a kitchen cranking out all the snacks you could want like nachos, corn dogs, chips and salsa, ice cream and pizza. They even have gluten-free and vegan options available. On weekends, they offer a full menu starting at noon.
Ground Kontrol doesn't charge a cover during the week – unless they're having a special event. There is a small cover on Friday and Saturday nights, however.
During the twice-a-month free play parties there is a $5 cover charge. But once you get in, you don't have to pay to play any of the games. Free play parties are the second Thursday of each month and the last Wednesday of the month. Most video games cost a quarter to play and pinball machines are two quarters to play.
Pretty much every night, there is a guest DJ blasting music and the arcade occasionally hosts game tournaments. They even host comedy shows and trivia nights.
Kids are allowed until 5 pm each day. After 5 pm, Ground Kontrol becomes a grown-ups-only gaming haven.
