Backstage Bar is a cool place to hang out, watch the game, and have a beer. Considered to be the the loftiest place to play pool among bars in Portland with their super high ceilings. This hidden bar behind the Bagdad Theater's screen actually stretches an incredible seven stories from floor to ceiling! Some about that ceiling makes this one of the most visualizing appealing bars in Portland. On game day they project the game up onto their massive wall. Plus, their shuffleboard table is considered to be one of the best in town. Back Stage Bar allows pets at our sidewalk seating only. No minors are allowed at this bar.

The White Owl Social Club is a fantastic bar with a killer patio in east Portland. White Owl Social Club does offer food. They have a vegan/vegetarian/omnivore restaurant in addtion to being a bar and music venue. Vegans will appreciate the food offerings here. They have a DJ several nights a week and on a nice day their patio can't be beat. Sometimes there's a fire going out there too and other times the outdoor area tuns into a night club. The White Owl Social Club is for ages 21 and up only. They have an excellent happy hour every day from 3 - 6 PM with $4 drafts, $6 cocktails, and $5 food specials.

Sapphire Hotel


The Sapphire Hotel is a cocktail lounge in a former hotel lobby with a shady past. They serve small plates and craft cocktails. The atmosphere here is killer and perfect for a date night. The cocktails are the best part about this lounge. Their most popular drink is actually named "The Most Popular Drink" and consists of vodka, lime, coconut, orgeat, shirley temple soda and pop rocks. Not only are the bartenders here expert mixologists they sometimes put on quite the show while making cocktails which is super fun to watch. The food here is good too. They offer selections like charcuterie plates and mussels and clams.

Southeast Portland
Crush


Although open to everyone, Crush is undoubtedly a predominately gay bar. Located in Southeast Portland, the establishment is divided into two sections: a comfortable, more intimate main bar and a dance floor/dining room. DJs spin an energetic mix of tunes that keep patrons dancing the night away under the bar's giant disco ball. Nightly specials and featured events keep things fresh and exciting, and there's a late-night menu for those who work up an appetite. They have good cocktails and often have new cocktails on special. You can often find a fun event going on here like a burlesque show, comedy troupe, an outdoor block party, or even as one of the official spots for the Naked Bike Ride after party,

Imperial Bottle Shop and Taproom is a beer lovers paradise. With 16 beers on tap and 400 types of bottled beer chances are they have the beer you seek. If you do not know what kind of beer you want just order a sampler. With the sampler you get to pick out 5 different beers you would like to try. In case you would rather have a cider you will be pleased to know that they have a handful of ciders to select from as well. They occasionally have special events here, so check their website to see what is coming up.

Southeast Portland


The Rum Club, as it's name may imply, is a small bar with a small, yet dedicated staff. They also have a small patio. The Rum Club has an extensive collection, but their area of expertise is higher end or new and odd drinks. You can even enjoy a rum flight here. The bartenders know their way around and can set you up with anything you're craving. Rum Club has food as well, like their popular picked eggs and citrus shrimp. Not sure what to order, let the person behind the bar take the helm and give you an experience you won't soon forget.

If you love country music, Bluegrass or Texas rock you are going to love the LandMark Saloon. Here they have everything a country bar should: a massive bar, quality libations like cold beer and signature cocktails served in mason jars, live honky tonk music, a small dance floor for two stepping and a killer outdoor area. Out back you can sit around a fire or play a round of corn hole. Their spacious patio includes a covered seating are and another bar. They even have decent bar food, if you like hotdogs. If you aren't into bar food check out the food cart in the back yard dishing up bbq. Unlike many bars in the area Landmark Saloon is open everyday of the week and many nights there is no cover charge!

Eastburn Public House is two stories of dining and entertainment with two full bars with extremely unique cocktails, 16 rotating taps, and a patio with fun swing chairs and fire tables. Weekends feature live music on the main floor along with rotating DJ's in the downstairs Tap Room, open mic nights, and live comedy shows. Throughout the week they offer a variety of specials like Old Fashioned Fridays with $2 off house old fashioned, on Saturday they offer $7 Bulleit or Ketel One Mules 5pm to midnight and on Sunday they offer a burger and a pint for $12 from 5pm to midnight!

Aalto Lounge is a fun, modern bar on Belmont with a great patio area and a dimly lit lounge section. If you have a hard time finding it, just look for Stumptown coffee, it's right next door. They have 17 wines available along with local and imported beers. Every day they offer happy hour with $2 cocktails and $10 bottles of wine from 4 - 7 PM. Beside craft cocktails they also have delicious snack options like tomato soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, artichoke dip, buffalo chicken dip, and mac and cheese. They have DJs every night starting at 9 PM.

Doug Fir Lounge

Located below the Doug Fir Restaurant, the Doug Fir Lounge is a hip live music spot that's got a dedicated following who show up to listen to the mix of regional and national musicians booked to play every night of the week. An outstanding food and cocktail menu is available, compliments of the Doug Fir Restaurant and Bar. They offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night food. Although shows have different time, generally doors open at 8pm, with shows beginning at 9pm; call or check their website for specific dates, times and shows. Doug Fir was listed as one of the Top 40 music venues in American by Paste Magazine. Doug Fir Lounge offers free wifi.
