Held at the Portland Expo Center, the Christmas Bazaar is an annual event that has been a Portland holiday shopping tradition for 31 years. The bazaar always starts the weekend after Thanksgiving. The show features 1,000 booths of a variety of interesting and diverse items ranging from beaded jewelry to dog beds. Booths are staffed and owned by the local small business owners. About 450 booths are juried handcrafted items including hats, jams and jellies, jewelry, little girls' tutus, ornaments, apparel, and some really clever ideas turned into really cool things. The rest of the show includes non-handcrafted gift items such as hair accessories, ornaments, antique baskets from China, candies, popcorn, barbeque sauces, Tupperware, handbags, collectibles, selected imported products, kitchen tools, fleece and a whole lot of holiday shopping ideas.
