Located in East Portland, The Memory Garden is part of Ed Benedict Park. Planted in 2002, the PMG is a demonstration garden project created as part of the 100 Parks, 100 Years centennial celebration of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
Being a collaboration between many agencies including the Alzheimer's Association, the Portland Memory Garden has been designed to be a multi-sensory experience and therapeutic for those with dementia.
The garden is open to the public and fully accessible to those with disabilities. The flat walkways and raised flower beds were designed with wheelchair users in mind. Aside from its therapeutic value, the Portland Memory Garden is a living work of art that can be appreciated by all.
