If you're in Philadelphia or Bucks County on Christmas Day, this annual historical reenactment is a sight worth seeing, and is sure to captivate the entire family. It is a wonderful opportunity to bring history to life with an event that actually took place on these very shores. The event commemorates December 25, 1776, when Washington and his troops took Camp Hessian at Trenton by surprise. While watching, you can really see how difficult it was back then. A dress rehearsal takes place on the second Sunday of December and the annual crossing event takes place on Christmas Day. Both crossings begin at 1pm and are located at the McKonkey Ferry Inn section of the park.
