New places, new experiences, Peruvian way

Kaminu Backpacker Hostel is a new addition among the Bed & Breakfast places in Lima, Peru; a perfect place for backpackers or for anyone trying to make the most of a limited budget. Kaminu Backpackers HostelKaminu Backpackers Hostel — Photo courtesy of Kaminu Backpackers Hostel

Colorful (easy to find), bright and at a strategic location, Kaminu offers (in addition to the standard hostels services, such as private rooms and dorms) a shared living room and a welcoming terrace equipped with chairs, umbrellas, a hammock and a snack bar where everyone can gather and socialize. There's even a stone oven and a cylinder barbecue available for group dinners. Kaminu Backpackers HostelKaminu Backpackers Hostel — Photo courtesy of Kaminu Backpackers Hostel

But the best thing about this hostel is its location, on a beautiful traditional street that used to be the only access to Barranco beaches. Yes, the beach is within walking distance, no more than 200 meters away. The beach is a great location for surfers, and the hostel staff can arrange surf lessons using their own surfboards.

If you are young and looking for nightlife fun, this is an excellent place, since it is pretty close to bars, restaurants and dance clubs.Kaminu Backpackers HostelKaminu Backpackers Hostel — Photo courtesy of Isabel Guerra

There are some lockers but you need to bring a padlock. The outlets can fit three types of plugs, and there's wifi, but do not expect a terrifically fast connection speed.  Take note, however, that this location may not be very convenient if you are one of those people that does need to sleep eight hours per night – the partying and fun can be a little noisy. Otherwise, this is a safe and very affordable place where you can meet new friends, locals and tourists as well.
