About Lima Restaurants
In recent years, the Peruvian cuisine has experienced a significant growth, both in popularity and the number of businesses related to this industry, especially restaurants, of course. Culinary offer in Lima not only covers a wide range of types and cuisines, regional and international, but also all kinds of budgets.
Among the many Peruvian dishes, there’s a must: the ceviche (fresh fish fillets marinated in lime juice),one of the Peruvian flagship dishes.
But the many regional Peruvian foods make a great variety to choose from. Peruvians love to eat, that is an essential part of their culture: celebrations and welcoming friends mean lots of food. And Lima’s dining scene includes also many international culinary influences brought by successive foreign immigrations: Spanish, African, Asian, Mediterranean, Italian, etc.
Regarding budgets, in Lima you can find many alternatives, from hidden and very little home-made food places (as cheap as US $5 per menu) to luxury five-star restaurants. The choice is up to you.
Some possible suggestions: Chala, Peruvian Coast-Mediterranean fusion; Segundo Muelle or La Mar for a superb ceviche; Malabar, a top class place with deli flavors: Kamcha, a place to try Andean cuisines, or Niqei, for Japanese-Peruvian fusion.
