About San Isidro
San Isidro has become known as the "Financial District", and has also become a very tourist-friendly place too, due to the many business travelers that choose this district as their place to stay and/or make business in Lima. Great hotels and superb restaurants are its main attractions.
Eat
Segundo Muelle is a top notch Peruvian restaurant specialized in creole seafood, blending this tradition with many different international flavors and cuisines, such as Asian, Italian, Mediterranean, etc. This is one of the best places in Lima to enjoy a typical cebiche (fresh fish fillets marinated in lime juice), among other Peruvian specialties.
Party
Ole Bar Restaurant has maintained its top-class standards for more than 15 years, and still is one of the preferred places among executives and business people. The staff prides in creating new dishes regularly, and it is certainly an excellent choice to pamper yourself with a good drink and an original menu that blends Spanish, Peruvian and Asian cuisines. Located a few steps away from El Olivar park and from Sonesta el Olivar hotel.
Stay
Westin Libertador, one of the newest top-notch, five-star hotels in Lima, its tower (curently the highest in Lima) has redefined San Isidro's skyline. A sensible choice for business travelers, it also offers a refined gastronomy, options for relax, and a well stocked bar with Peruvian and international drinks, including some exotic creations based on local fruits.
Shop
Joyeria Ilaria specializes in silver jewellery, with original, chic designs by Peruvian artisans, combining many different natural materials and gems: spondylus, opal, pearls, Peruvian turquoise, quartz, etc. Jewels are sold with lifetime guarantee. They have a store in San Isidro, plus other ones in Larcomar and Jockey Plaza shopping centers. A bit pricey for local standards, but the quality is worth it.
