One of Lisbon's most prestigious luxury hotels, this landmark property has 282 guest rooms and suites, 272 of which have private terraces overlooking the hotel's gardens and Parque Eduardo VII. The building itself dates from 1959 and is a fine example of Portuguese modernist architecture. Interiors are decorated with reproduction 18th-century furniture and contemporary Portuguese tapestry and sculpture. The rooms are some of the largest in Lisbon and feature the very latest amenities. Leisure facilities extend to a fabulous multi-sensory spa facility where rejuvenating massage and beauty treatments can be enjoyed in a blissful Zen-styled environment. A unique aspect is the outdoor running track built around the top-floor gym where guest can enjoy superb city views. The hotel's Varanda restaurant is one of Lisbon's gastronomic reference points where the menu errs towards flavoursome Mediterranean cuisine: many signature dishes celebrate fresh fish and seafood.
