Tim Ho Wan developed from a legendary hole-in-the-wall in Mongkok. Some call it the "world's cheapest Michelin meal" (with its signature crispy pork bun priced at US$2 per basket), others reckon it has the longest dining queue in Hong Kong starting from a two-hour wait any time of the day. To satisfy the growing appetite from both locals and tourists, the brand has branched out around Hong Kong with brighter and more efficient canteens. And you don't need to worry about having to wait for five hours to get your first bite of har gow, Tim Ho Wan's original Mongkok store was closed due to the increasing rent and the two nearest outlets, one in Shum Shui Po and the other at Olympian City, are much more spacious. The brand is founded by Chef Pui Gor, who used to work at the three-Michelin-star Lung King Heen.
