Loof, Singapore’s first standalone rooftop bar, has reopened after a facelift. Located atop Odeon Towers, opposite Raffles Hotel, the new Loof is refreshed and revamped but maintains its quirky character. It may not boast such a vertiginous location as 1-altitude or the sweeping skyline views of Ku De Ta, but what Loof lacks in height, it makes up for in ‘cool’.

The new design is more open and airy, while maintaining its urban garden appeal. Shingle patterned tiles adorn the walls, trellis and backdrop to the bar, while equally dominant is the ample greenery and foliage – a nod to Singapore’s tropical foliage. The four large trees remain a focal point, now surrounded by creepers, hanging plants and a green wall.
The new cocktail menu has a distinctly Southeast Asian appeal, with regionally inspired cocktails such as Ho Chi Mint (light notes of pear juice, mint, cucumber and vodka), and Java Ginger Crush (a triple whammy of ginger beer, fresh ginger and Canton ginger liquer, garnished with fragrant grapefruit). All drinks are made with the fresh ingredients, including herbs plucked from Loof’s own mint, basil, lime and lemongrass plants.

Beer lovers will enjoy the new selection of Asian beers from throughout the region, including Beer Lao (Laos), Tsingtao (China), Hite (Korea), Chang (Thailand), Taiwan White Beer (Taiwan), San Miguel (Philippines), Asahi (Japan), and of course homegrown Tiger (Singapore).
To complement the drinks selection, Loof’s food menu also comes with a local twist. Chilli Crab Dip served with fried mantou and Wings Lah, served with finger lickin’ sambal chilli and ikan bilis (dried anchovies) are just two of the favorites.

Loof’s renowned DJs remain in residence, with KFC and Tyler Made spinning infectious beats, and every Thursday DJ Uncle Johnny spinning tribute indie and alternative beats from 90s and Beyond at “LOOFAPALOOZA”. A new Happy Hour provides a great incentive to head here early. “Beat the Clock” every Monday to Friday, from 5pm to 8pm sees housepour spirits, beers and wines by the glass priced according to the hour on the clock.
