Find the Best Things to Do in Robertson Quay

By Marianne Rogerson

About Robertson Quay

Robertson Quay is a thriving area of Singapore situated along the river. A boom in high-end condos and hotels has seen restaurants, bars and cafes sprouting up in abundance over the last few years, and this is now one of Singapore’s most popular nightlife districts. By day dog walkers and pram-pushing mothers meet for coffees at the tree-shaded boutique cafes along the river, while by night the crowd descends for dinner and drinks at the huge variety of relaxed yet buzzing alfresco bars and restaurants.

Eat

There is a wealth of restaurants to choose from in Robertson Quay. By day, the tree-shaded boutique cafes along the river, such as Toby’s Estate, attract pram-pushing mothers and dog walkers, while by night the crowd descends for dinner. There is a huge choice to be had – popular venues include Red House for local seafood dishes, including Singapore’s famous Chilli Crab; Bella Pizza for some of the best pizza in town, and Les Bouchons for awesome steak & frites.

Party

Robertson Quay is one of Singapore’s most popular nightlife areas. There are plenty of bars to choose from – the majority offering al-fresco areas, and focused around pedestrian and riverside surroundings. The square at Robertson Walk is a popular venue for large-screen outdoor viewing of big sporting events, while Boomarang is also a popular choice for sports viewing. For some of the best value wine in town, check out Wine Connection. Robertson Quay is also the home to the ever-popular Zouk nightclub.

Stay

The hotels in Robertson Quay boast river views, and are ideally located to explore the rest of the city. They also benefit from a wealth of bars and restaurants on their doorstep. Robertson Quay is home to one of Singapore’s original boutique hotels, Gallery Hotel, and also some other older choices such as the River View, Grand Copthorne, and budget Robertson Quay Hotel. The Holiday Inn is also close by. New hotels have also opened up in recent years, including the Park Hotel and the Studio M hotel.
