About Sentosa Island

Often dubbed “Singapore’s Playground”, Sentosa is home to a concentrated collection of world-class visitor attractions and beach-front resorts. The opening of Resorts World Sentosa in 2010 took island entertainment to a new level with a 24 hour casino and Southeast Asia’s only Universal Studios theme park. The Southern beaches – Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong – see the city’s sun-worshippers and beach-sport lovers flocking here at weekends, while the beachside bars kick out thumping tunes.
See & Do
Sentosa is all about family entertainment. The top pick is undoubtedly Universal Studios, with its movie-based rides, but also worth a visit is Underwater World – home to more than 2,500 sea creatures and Dolphin Lagoon, where the resident ‘pink’ dolphins entertain the crowds. Other attractions include the part go-cart, part toboggan Luge; the Sentosa 4D Magix cinema, featuring seat vibration, leg ticklers and base shakers; the 450m-long flying fox ride at MegaZip Adventure Park; and the Port of Lost Wonder kids club by the sea.
Eat
A range of restaurants is on offer Sentosa, and you will be able to find something to suit most budgets. Restaurants are concentrated in two areas – the beaches and Resorts World Sentosa. Along the beachfront, choose from ice-cream shacks to bars and restaurants such as Coastes, Trapizza and Tanjong Beach Club. Within the Resorts World Sentosa complex, there is a whole host of options, from chain favorites Hard Rock Café and Din Tai Fung to high-end fine-dining establishments Joel Robuchon and Osia.
Party
It’s all about beachfront drinking on Sentosa. Choose from laid-back options such as Coastes, where you can sit and sip a beer with the sand between your toes, or head to everybody’s favourite Sunday hangout – Tanjong Beach Club, which kicks off with thumping tunes and bikini clad revelers every Sunday. Away from the beach, Resorts World Sentosa boasts several bars and restaurants within the complex, but what many people head here for is its 24-hour casino.
Stay
There are many beachfront resorts to choose from on Sentosa. The cream of the crop is the Capella, a stunning Norman Foster-designed hotel tucked away in the rainforest with views out over the China Sea. Other resorts boasting similar views include the Sentosa Resort & Spa, famed for its champagne Sunday brunches and award-winning spa, and the family friendly Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa. Away from the beaches, Resorts World Sentosa has a range of hotels within its complex.
