Owner and head doughnut creator Amberge Sloan first created Diggity Doughnuts in 2010 as an unassuming little blue food truck with one focused mission: to serve organic, dairy-free, egg-free (and delicious) vegan doughnuts to the sweet tooth foodies of Charleston, S.C.
And just like that, the Lowcountry had itself a healthy helping of street fare that stood out from the rest of the food truck crowd.
While most food trucks in the Charleston area did (and still do) serve hot, hearty and sometimes spicy wraps, banh mi sandwiches and other meals, Diggity Doughnuts introduced a dessert option into the mix.

The Diggity Doughnuts truck also changed the game as far as food trucks that provide options for those following specific diets or suffering from food allergies. Now, anyone and everyone can treat themselves to a sweet snack courtesy of Sloan and her team; their doughnut menu features goodies made from wholesome ingredients and often at least one gluten-free flavor.
Diggity Doughnuts' doughnuts are also affordable, setting you back just $2.65 each (or $3.50, for their gluten-free offerings).

Speaking of flavors, you'll want to take note of the daily offerings from Diggity Doughnuts before sampling. Simply check the bakery crew's Facebook profile to see what's on the menu each day.
Hint: You're going to be very pleasantly surprised by the flavor offerings.
Expect classics like glazed or chocolate icing to appear alongside more flamboyant options such as Mint Mojito, Green Curry Coconut, Strawberry Jalepeño, Banana Bread, Salty Spud and the ever-popular Nutty Rooster (made with Sriracha and peanut butter).

In late 2014, Sloan opened the newest venue in the Diggity Doughnuts empire: a permanent restaurant-style venue that's as brightly colored as the original food truck vehicle.
Now, vegans and doughnut-lovers of all kinds can enjoy the unique Diggity Doughnuts flavors at their brick-and-mortar shop location on the upper stretches of Meeting Street in downtown Charleston.
Of course, with a storefront location comes even more reasons to love Diggity Doughnuts! The new Diggity Doughnuts headquarters at 616 Meeting Street offers a menu that goes beyond doughnuts, including vegan and vegetarian brunch plates, freshly made juices and iced coffee with non-dairy creamers.

There's a lot to love about the immobile Diggity Doughnuts venture, including the fact that the store now complements the food truck's weekday hours.
While the food truck makes its rounds to events and corporate hotspots, the Diggity Doughnuts store is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday and Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
With plenty of parking out front, as well as both interior high tables and outdoor deck seating, Diggity Doughnuts is an inviting place to grab dessert or snag a sweet treat any time of day.
Is there really a bad time for such a sinless treat?
