For the perfect family outing or romantic day trip, visit Charleston's only vineyard and winery at Irvin House Vineyards on Wadmalaw Island! Located just 25 minutes from historic downtown Charleston, Irvin House Vineyards is owned and operated by husband and wife team Jim and Ann Irvin. Here in this idyllic lowcountry setting, grapes are grown and harvested, and wine is made and bottled, all on site of this 48 acre vineyard. Muscadine grapes are used to make all five varieties of wine produced at Irvin House, including some Silver and Bronze Wines of the South award winners: Tara Gold, Palmetto, Magnolia, Mullet Hall Red, and Live Oak Reserve. Irvin House Vineyards is open to the public for tours and tastings Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and guests may taste all five wines, and keep their souvenir tasting glass for $4.
