Everyone knows Santa Claus' workshop is in the North Pole, but few know he has a small outpost in Myrtle Beach. ElfWorks, a satellite location of the Children's Museum of South Carolina, opens shop at the Market Common shopping district usually on random dates throughout November and December. Featuring holiday-themed exhibits and activities for children of all ages, ElfWorks is a great opportunity for parents to let their children play during a busy day of shopping. ElfWorks offers Christmas-related arts and crafts and imagination play designed to educate as much as entertain. Children can build igloos, slides and more at Frosty's Imagination Playground. Kids can also put on a holiday show on the North Pole Stage, write letters to Santa at the Secret Snail Mail Post Office, play with others in the Sock Hockey Arena and enjoy Santa’s cookies and milk in Mrs. Claus’ kitchen.
ElfWorks relies solely on donations for admission, and all funds go to support the Children's Museum of South Carolina. ElfWorks is also the place for parents to find perfect gifts and stocking-stuffers, just in time for the holidays. Photos with Santa are also available for purchase.
ElfWorks is located in Myrtle Beach's Market Common, between Sunglass Hut and Fossil. Hours are limited, so be sure to check the schedule. Market Common at Christmas — Photo courtesy of Market Common
