What's scary on the outside and sweet in the middle? One of Myrtle Beach's oldest and most popular retail centers, thanks to an extreme makeover and the addition of a tasty new tenant - I Love Sugar. Flanked by a pair of Ripley's attractions, the Nightmare Haunted House and the Moving Theater, I Love Sugar provides an oasis of sweetness for shoppers in Myrtle Beach's downtown district.
The real-life Willie Wonka replica has a new home in one of the city's oldest buildings. Dating back to the time of the town's incorporation in 1938, this Ocean Boulevard mainstay has served as a boarding house, a beachwear store and an ice cream shop - among other things - over the years. In need of major renovations, the building underwent an extreme makeover to make way for I Love Sugar.

But the change has been a sweet one. This colorful storefront features more than 6,000 square feet filled wall-to-wall with containers of candy. Gummies come in all sorts of flavors, and animals and candy bars of all kinds are prominently displayed in this two-story structure with a mirrored-glass facade.
Located just across Ocean Boulevard from the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and SkyWheel, I Love Sugar is in a prime location to give visitors their sweet-tooth fix. Patrons can scoop their favorites into plastic bags and pay by the pound, or go the guilty route and stock up on the wide assortment of collectors' cases of candies.
Sink your teeth into this sugar-coated addition to Myrtle Beach's shopping scene.
