The 1.2-mile wooden walkway – which features scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean on one side and downtown attractions, shopping and dining on the other – recently tacked on another 425 feet on the north end, stretching from Pier 14 at 14th Avenue North to the beach access and city park on 15th Avenue North.

Although the extension may sound like a minor move in terms of distance, the additional block now includes the popular Banditos eatery, the latest hot spot with direct access to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk.
The extension has already created a major buzz at Bandito's, which now has three entry points from the Boardwalk to its backyard. The huge oceanfront deck features tables and tiki bar and hosts the largest beach party in Myrtle Beach on Saturdays.
The move has been a big shot in the arm for Banditos, which struck a deal with the city of Myrtle Beach to pay for the Boardwalk extension. It's introduced new customers and driven more traffic to the Mexican- and Caribbean-themed eatery. Banditos has become the perfect place to take a break from the beach and enjoy some spicy snacks and entrees, ice-cold beers and frozen drinks.
This three-story, 3,500-square-foot restaurant overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, with plenty of outdoor patio seating and a large bar area featuring roll-up doors to allow for an open-air setting on milder days. Huge back windows provide lovely ocean views no matter the weather.

The decor is island beach shack, and the menu is heavy on Mexican and Caribbean-style fare, featuring fresh local seafood and traditional favorites with a twist. Enjoy fajitas, burritos and enchiladas like you've never had them before. Or get the fresh catch of the day any way you want it, including with jerked or blackened spices.
Banditos offers a wide range of appetizers, such as hot wings, quesadillas and piled-high nachos. Wash them down with fresh-squeezed sangria and margaritas or a broad selection of beers from south of the border and beyond.
Located at 1410 Ocean Boulevard, Bandito's opens at 11 a.m. daily for lunch and stays open late during the summer months.
