Barcelona's late-night city center club is rolling out its 2013 summer lineup. Marula Cafe is featuring the best of funk, hip hop and jazz in their Gotico locale, situated just around the corner from 'Plaza Tripi' (George Orwell Plaza). This exciting dance club has become renowned in recent years for its unassuming feel and welcoming atmosphere. The entertainment has always consisted of variations on funk music with accents of hip hop, reggae and even a bit of electronic thrown in, depending on the season.

Starting in April, Marula has a steady lineup of well-known DJs and live bands including performances by Snak the Ripper, as well as Latin Jam & DJ Timber and the O'Funkillo, and Soul For Sale + Rodrigo. Marula's appeal isn't attributed only to its excellent 'sounds'; it's also in the ideal location. Right off the infamous La Rambla walkway and around the corner from the bustling Plaza Reial, it's perfect for those looking to club-hop on a Friday or Saturday evening, or for those wanting to switch up the beats from SideCar's 80s mix and the younger crowd at Jamboree.
Marula stays open until 6 am, at which point you can stumble onto the street and continue partying as the sun comes up; just buy a drink from one of the many beer vendors outside the club and head to an after-hours.
