Situated in the center of Barcelona's high-end shopping district, the Mandarin Oriental is a five-star hotel known for luxury, design and its variety of delicious places to eat. The hotel even has a Michelin-starred restaurant headed up by Catalan Chef, Carme Ruscalleda. What many people don't know, however, is that every day between 5 pm and 7 pm, the Oriental serves high tea on the main floor in the atrium next to the hotel lobby.
After a brief hiatus, a buffet-style high tea is back and this time it’s featuring new and improved additions to the menu. For 25 euros, you receive all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink, when it comes to tea, coffee and soft drinks.

The buffet is a healthy fusion of British style and Catalan tapas, which includes scones, biscuits, pastries, breads and a variety of cheeses and meats in small sandwiches amongst other small plates. There's also the option to pay 10 euros for the drinks and pay separately for what you eat, which might appeal to those with smaller appetites.
If you're celebrating a special occasion or just feel like doing something unique and relaxing during your Barcelona stay, then this is an excellent experience. They cater to small parties, but be sure to make a reservation at least a day in advance if you have a large group.
