Another excellent addition to Barcelona's bar and restaurant scene, this new 1920's style venue is growing rapidly in popularity. With its tasty gastro-tapas, unassuming yet elegant decor, and charmingly chic vibe, Elsa y Fred has quickly made a name for itself amongst Barcelona's expats and trendy locals.
Located on the edge of the Born neighborhood, just a stone's throw from Arc De Triomf, the restaurant now hosts jazz nights every Tuesday evening. It's a perfect place for intimate dinners with loved ones or friends and, even though the locale itself isn't large, it doesn't feel overcrowded.

The three-piece jazz band situates itself by the door, and strikes a good balance between blending into the background while at the same time playing loud enough for everyone to enjoy. The music isn't intrusive, rather soft and relaxing and a nice way to switch things up mid-work-week.
Elsa y Fred doesn't only serve dinners and cocktails; they also have a great breakfast and lunch menu. They even have a few outdoor tables which are ideal during the summer.
Sofi, the Argentinean owner is extremely accommodating and eager to please; if you need anything or have special dietary requests, don't hesitate to ask.
