Teresa Carles Adds Brunch to Vegetarian Menu

Breakfast-lovers should head to Raval

January 18, 2012 // By Sam Mednick

Located in the Raval neighborhood in the Old City, Teresa Carles has been around for decades and continues to reinvent its image while adding new and delicious dishes to its repertoire. Its most recent innovation has been the addition of a brunch menu. A meal that has been slow to take off in Barcelona, brunch is still regarded as an expat affair rather than a Spanish or Catalan one (Catalans typically have a croissant and coffee for breakfast/brunch).

You can't help but stop and stare when passing by this vegetarian hot spot. Even if you're more of a 'carnivore' than a vegetarian, it's hard not to notice the fresh selection of fruits and vegetables displayed so elegantly along the wooden island in the center of the restaurant.  The freshness of the food is matched by the restaurant's relaxing ambiance.  Plush sofas, located next to large windows overlooking the street, entice diners to stay awhile.

From 9 am to 2 pm on Sunday through Monday, the restaurant is taking a chance on serving a fresh and tasty breakfast and brunch, including eggs, cheeses and other eclectic veggie dishes. So far, it's been a hit amongst neighborhood locals while the word is quickly spreading across town.

In conjunction with their new brunch menu, Teresa Carles has an extensive variety of salads and other excellent vegetarian meals which you can enjoy in the restaurant or via takeaway.
