Teresa Carles, the iconic vegetarian restaurant in Barcelona, is constantly reinventing itself. For the 2013/2014 winter season, it has introduced a "Back to Veggies" menu of several new dishes.
Teresa Carles, one of the best veggie restaurants in Barcelona, recently added a host of feel-good, veggie-inspired options to its menu. Some of the changes include new artichoke croquettes and celery soup served with toasted bread and parmesan cheese. The eatery has also enhanced its breakfast menu to include a range of Mediterranean dishes of hummus, mixed vegetables and fresh fruit juices.
In addition to the newly added fall/winter menu, Teresa Carles is keeping most of its staple dishes, including mushroom and cheese croquettes, avocado and tofu pastries and a delicious variety of salads. The Italian and Caprese salads are particularly tasty. If you're going with friends, then you can order a double-sized portion of any item on the menu.

Teresa Carles opens daily at 9 a.m. and stays open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you're looking for somewhere to get work done, especially in the morning, then this is a perfect place. At lunch, the restaurant gets packed, so it's best to use the Wi-Fi before the crowds come.
Located on the edge of the up-and-coming Raval neighborhood, Teresa Carles is only a few-minute walk from La Rambla. The restaurant is also close to some exciting streets like Pintor Fortuny and Tallers.
After dinner, you can head to Rambla del Raval to pick from a host of trendy bars and clubs. This is one of the more "off the beaten path" areas to explore in the city; it's a little more local and a little less touristy.
Ambar is just one of many fun options if you want to have a drink. So is the roof of the Barcelo Hotel, which offers beautiful 360-degree views of the city, especially during the summer. Plan to visit again.
Another nearby hotel with wonderful views is Hotel 1898, located on La Rambla. This hotel has been known to offer considerable winter booking discounts. But even if you can't afford to stay, you can still enjoy the hotel's gorgeous rooftop terrace.
