If you're looking for an edgier part of town to have a few aperitifs before the night gets underway, the Raval is an excellent alternative to some of the other neighborhoods in the Old City. More rustic than the Born and often hipper than the Gotico, what used to be known as one of the seediest areas in Barcelona is now one of the places to be on a Friday or Saturday night (or any night of the week).

Rambla Del Raval, the heart of the neighborhood, has recently established several new, cool and trendy locales. Zentraus and Ambar are two of the latest bars turn club after 1am. These are slightly more upscale, yet still very unassuming places with rock music and delicious cocktails.
If you're in the mood to have a good meal with a signature Pornstar Martini, check out Marmalade, also known for their great brunches on the weekend; and if you’re in for a crazy big night, Les Enfants is right around the corner and is the oldest disco in the city.
