About La Rambla
One of the most famous walkways in the world, La Rambla is more than a street that stretches from the sea to Plaza Catalunya, but it is one of the most lively and central parts of the city, full of exhibits, street performers, shops and of course the renowned Boqueria market.
See & Do
Another one of Gaudi's incredible works of art, Palau Guell is one of the most luxurious buildings in Barcelona. It was commissioned by Eusebi Guell i Bacigalupi, in 1880 and was completed in 1889. Palau Guell is located right off La Rambla, which at the time, was the center of the city (and very much still is today). The Guell family lived in this house from 1888 and often hosted events such as the Universal Exhibition in Barcelona.
Eat
One of the city's best vegetarian restaurants is located only a block away from La Rambla. Teresa Carles serves large, fresh and creative salads amongst a host of other delicious veggie dishes including mushroom croquetes, quiches and pasta options. If you head down Tallers street off the top of La Rambla, you'll be there in less then 3 minutes.
Party
Right off La Rambla, in one of the city's most well-known plazas, Jamboree night club is the place to go if you're looking for late night beats in a lively locale. Located in Plaza Reial, Jamboree is right beside a host of other exciting discos including Marula Cafe, SideCar and Factory Club.
Stay
A luxury high-end hotel at the top of La Ramblas, 1898 has the best terrace in the city, sporting 360 degree panoramic views, a pool and a lounge area. If you're looking for an elegant hotel in the city center, then the 1898 is ideally situated, as it's close to Plaza Catalunya at the top of La Ramblas and right beside the main metro and train lines.
Shop
People flock to Barcelona looking for Camper shoes. Well made, stylish and durable, Camper is a Barcelona staple and one of their largest shops is situated directly on La Rambla. The shoes are top quality, creative and quite different than you'll find in other, more mainstream shoe stores. Be sure to ask if they're on 'Rebaixes' (discounts) as they usually have great deals.
