Barcelona's Chicest Neighborhood Offers Delicious, Trend-Setting Restaurants

In the heart of the Old City, Barcelona's Born neighborhood has become synonymous with trendy chic and gastro tapas. In recent years there's been a surge in restaurants, especially in this part of town. Not only does Passeig Del Born have a ton of eateries of all styles, the Born is laden with tiny alleyways and out of the way nooks, full of places you'd never think to look unless you knew what was there.

One of the city's best restaurants, Montiel, is situated in this neighborhood just off of Calle Flassaders, along with some of the best pizza shops and gastro tapas restaurants, including Llamber and Mosquito amongst others.

What's important to note when frequenting the Born, is that there are several sub-sections within this neighborhood, some of which have been less 'inhabited' by tourists. The upper Born, near Arc de Triomf is where you can find a lot of 'out of the way' restaurants, such as Elsa y Fred and En Aparte, both amazing, quaint, charming and great for intimate dinners or long lunches. The area that leads onto Barceloneta is also a nice place to explore with Kiosko Hamburgers right on the edge and always packed with lines out the door.

This is a fabulous neighborhood to eat in and once dinner is over there are plenty of bars and late night clubs within walking distance.

LaVietnamita is a tasty Asian and Spanish fusion option in a cool setting with great service. They also cater to dietary needs. After you're finished dinner, you can stroll along Passeig Del Born and have a drink at the always lively bars including Pitin and No Name Cafe. And if you're up for a night on the town, Magic Club is right around the corner.
