What to do with all those leftover corks? — Photo courtesy of Memphis Botanic GardenMemphis is one of those towns where the outdoors can truly be enjoyed year-round; rarely do we have such bone-chilling temperatures or too much snow or rain to scare away those who want to venture outside.
October, in particular, is a spectacular month, as temperatures reach toward the mid-70's during the day, but dip into the chilly-ish 50's at night - the perfect month. There's no better place than the Memphis Botanic Garden to enjoy the fluttering leaves of fall and the splendid colors of a changing season, while sipping on a nice glass of wine.
The monthly Tuesdays on the Terrace wine tastings, which run February through October, occur the last Tuesday of those months - which means October's wine tasting marks the end of this year's trips around the wine world. Appropriate for the end of October, Spooky Spirits is the theme, with eight spook-tacular wines and an array of appetizers to try.
The October tasting is the night before Halloween, October 30, from 6 - 8 pm. Tickets are $35 for non-members, and can be purchased online.
