With 11 salons / day spas scattered across the city, it only makes sense that the local company which employs 450-ish hair, makeup, nail, skin care and body treatment experts would open a school to train others in the business. The beauty of Gould's Academy (get it??) is that all those trainees need practice, so you can arrange for anything from a haircut to an up-do to a blow-out to nail services...the list seems endless. Pricing starts at $5 for a beard trim and haircuts start at $12, while nail services start at $12 and facials at $40. Across the hall from the main Academy is the Express Massage, our favorite spot of all.

Located in East Memphis, Living Health offers a full menu of skin and boy care packages, including perhaps the largest menu of body-loving treatments we've seen at any spa. For facials and skin care, Living Health uses Repéchage Facial treatments and an Italian hand and foot treatment product called Cuccio which includes seaweed imported from Brittany. Living Health partners with the Tennessee School of Massage, so massage therapists have at least 750 hours of training under their belts in addition to their hands-on experience. Living Health also offers hypnotherapy sessions ($140), a full menu of waxing services, and brow threading.
