Normally, a national chain wouldn't get much ink in a neighborhood shopping list - but when Urban Outfitters opened in Cooper Young in 2011, it truly helped bring other stores into the area, and reinvigorated a corner of the 'hood that was desperately in need. Like its counterparts across the United States, the Memphis version caters to hipsters of both sexes.The great thing about this chain, though, is that it tailors its stores to their locations, so that means you may find something in the Memphis store you won't find other places. While the focus is on uber-hipster clothing, you'll also find a fun selection of kitschy housewares, funky jewelry, and cosmetics.
