Beale Street Landing is the long-anticipated, $43-million dollar riverfront project that is part restaurant, part park, part dock for steamboats and scenic river cruises on the Mighty Mississippi. The landing sits at the foot of the city's famed Beale Street, between the lush and wide open green space that is Tom Lee Park, and the historic cobblestone landing that was the original dock for steamboats and barges in downtown Memphis.
A fanciful children's playground with water features, an indoor/outdoor restaurant and bar, and viewing platforms are all part of the landing; tickets for the sightseeing cruises can be bought inside the souvenir shop, which in our opinion is loaded with the worst souvenirs in the city.
