Family-Friendly Hotels Abound in Memphis for Those Traveling with Kids

When it comes to planning a family vacation to Memphis, it's easy to find a family-friendly hotel that's packed with amenities, no mater what neighborhood you choose.

From downtown to East Memphis, family-friendly hotel options are plentiful, and range from all-out luxury to more moderately-priced, suite-style hotels. But, because public transportation is limited, you will need to consider renting a car if you aren't driving into town; while a number of attractions are centered downtown, getting to the Zoo, Graceland, and other points of interest mean you'll need transportation. So be sure to choose a hotel not only based on its family-friendly options, but its proximity to the attractions you plan to visit.

Downtown hotels including the Peabody - and its famous march of its resident ducks, the Westin and others offer proximity to the FedEx Forum -home of the Grizzles and a variety of events - and AutoZone Park, home of the baseball Redbirds; the Cotton Museum, Mississippi River and South Main Historic District are all easily accessed via the Main Street Trolley (currently in repair, so replaced by buses that look like trolleys).

Further east - and with proximity to the Zoo and Shelby Farms - families will find suite hotels with free breakfasts, pools, and extra space to stretch out.

Regardless of which hotel you choose, Memphis is an easy to navigate city, meaning you'll spend less time in the car, and more enjoying the sites and sounds with the family.
