[PHOTO_211840] Fall is right around the corner. With it comes autumn leaves the colors of crimson and gold, back-to-school specials, and one of Nashville’s favorite pastimes: football. Nashville is the home of the Tennessee Titans at LP Field. On the field, the boys in blue are fast and furious; in the stands, the fans are pumped and prepared to hoot and holler their way to a win. What a fantastic way to spend the day. However, if you can’t make it to watch a game live, don’t worry - Music City offers plenty of friendly, hospitable, and lively joints made for game-watching.
A prime way to kick-start a football day in Music City is by tailgating. Many locals will park downtown, starting off the morning with coffee from Crema. With their unique blends, this java joint promises the best cup of Joe in town. Once your engine is revved, it’s time to drive towards LP Field.
[PHOTO_208966] If you’re in from out of town, consider staying at Ramada Downtown Nashville At The Stadium. Directly across the street from LP Field, you can walk out the front door into the tail-gating party. Downtown Nashville offers a wonderful built-in tailgate atmosphere and block party with restaurants and entertainment venues within walking distance. Many of the Titans' home games start at 12 p.m. and tailgating begins at 10 a.m., which is when the LP Field parking lots open up.
If tailgating isn’t on your preferred agenda, head on down to one of Nashville’s sports bars. Three of the top places to watch the game are Sam’s Sports Bar, Corner Pub, and Crow’s Nest. Each of these venues offer all manner of great game day fare, from burgers and fries to salads and falling-off-the-bone chicken.
Sam’s offers a low-key atmosphere in trendy Hillsboro Village. Known for its drink specials, the bar becomes
crowded for games, but if you go early, it’s fairly easy to find enough tables (even for large groups). Corner Pub is a lively spot near Vanderbilt University. At Corner Pub Midtown there are fifteen TVs set up for patrons' enjoyment. The pub aims to feature games and fill bellies. Crow’s Nest is centrally located in Green Hills. Swanky and upscale, they offer the best and latest high gravity beers. A unique and fun experience can be had at the helm of any of these great Music City venues.
Whether you’re in town to watch the game live at LP Field, or looking for a great way to spend game day, one thing is certain: Music City aims to please every football fan.
