Nothing says "summer" like baseball, and Dallas-Ft. Worth has one of the best teams in the U.S.! Home to the Texas Rangers, the Ballpark in Arlington opened in 1994. It features one of the game's best venues that is perfect for family outings. This world-class park incorporates elements from great venues like Wrigley Field, Ebbets Field, and Tiger Stadium, and it also boasts scenes of Texas landmarks on its exterior and a real grass playing field. Foodies will love this venue, as it serves more than just hot dogs, beer and peanuts. Many onsite food vendors feature boneless wings, Mexican tapas, handmade tacos, s'mores pie, quesadillas and salads. Sharing the premises are a baseball museum, a children's learning center, and an office building that also houses retail shops. Adjacent to the park are lakes, trails, restaurants, and other attractions.

Visitors to Dallas can take advantage of many summer-only specials and deals, such as Dollar Hot Dog nights! The 2012 dates for this great special are August 1, 22 and 29 and September 12 and 26. If your little one is celebrating a birthday while you're in town, you can also plan a birthday party there, which includes party favors and a guided tour of the stadium.
