If you enjoy playing baseball, then you will want to get familiar with the Dallas-based sporting goods company Warstic, which is in the process of opening its first brick-and-mortar retail location and headquarters in Deep Ellum. The brand, co-owned by former minor league player Ben Jenkins along with White Stripes musician Jack White and former Texas Rangers second basemen Ian Kinsler, specializes in uniquely designed, hand crafted wood and metal bats as well as athletic gear and lifestyle apparel for baseball and softball players of all ages. While the company's headquarters are slated to open in early 2020, customers can visit the temporary showroom and demo center which is open from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. A cool feature of the store is that it houses a full batting cage for folks to try out a few swings.
- Deep Ellum's Best Shopping: "Customers can call to schedule a fitting appointment outside of showroom hours. Free name engraving is included on all made-to-order custom pro bats."
- Best for Deep Ellum's Best Shopping Because: Warstic is the only place in Dallas to get a custom fitted baseball bat.
