Established in 1981, the Rosewood Mansion oozes all the opulence and elegance you'd expect to find in a former estate of a wealthy cotton baron. Which is what the property once was when it was first constructed in 1925. Fashioned after a 16th century Italian Renaissance style structure, the hotel features 143 guestrooms and private suites luxuriously furnished with Italian bed linens, marble baths, designer toiletries, original artworks and private balconies. You could happily spend your entire stay within the confines of your room. But you might miss out on the rest of what the hotel offers, like a state-of-the-art fitness studio, a gorgeous pool, a cozy lantern-lit terrace and a sophisticated restaurant and bar featuring live jazz in the evenings. Oh, and if you feel like venturing out they'll give you a Lexus to test drive around town. Rates begin at $625 per night.
