Blue Box Bar is one of the best and newest additions to San Antonio’s nightlife scene. Plus, it's located in the hottest and hippest spot in town: Pearl Brewery.
But if you don’t keep your eyes peeled, then you might miss it! It’s tucked back between Boiler House restaurant and Sandbar Fish House & Market on the backside of the Pearl. Both of these are great places to grab a meal before or after drinks. Blue Box is unassuming from the outside, but it has an inviting, cool vibe upon entering. This makes it the perfect spot for an intimate evening or a festive night out with friends.

Blue Box offers a sleek, modern approach to drinks and design. They feature a variety of potent and fabulous hand-crafted drinks made by an in-house mixologist. They also serve fine liquors, such as Dulce Vida Lone Star Tequila, which has been aged in oak casks. They also sport an excellent Scotch menu, for you Scotch lovers out there.
Try any of the drinks that contain ginger beer, as they use Fever-Tree, an excellent choice. In general, they offer a pretty phenomenal selection of beers. Other specialty drinks include fun choices such as the Acai Berry Martini, French 75, Parisienne, Poco Pera, The Ricardo, Monte Carlo, Vieux Carre and the Corpse Reviver!
Another thing patrons can enjoy is the spacious venue and upstairs loft bar. There’s always plenty of standing room, so you’re not squished in like sardines. Surprisingly, it’s even a great place to have a casual business meeting.
Blue Box is earning a reputation among young professionals for not only their top-notch drinks, but also their stellar and friendly staff. For those who still smoke, they even have a patio where you can take your cocktail and light up, relax and take in the usually warm San Antonio eve.
The Pearl Community surrounding Blue Box is one of the fastest growing in all of San Antonio - with cool shops, fine dining restaurants, condos and more popping up on what seems like a daily basis. You could kill a whole day here from morning to night. Have a few drinks at Blue Box and then hop on a barge to head on down the river to your next destination. Or just stay at Blue Box all evening, if you like.
On the weekends, Blue Box can fill up quickly, but this can be a great thing. The typical Blue Box customer can afford the lifestyle and tends to have an interesting career and background, so there's plenty of new people to meet and greet. It’s an ideal way to learn about San Antonio and the fun things to do there. What could be better than cocktails and conversation? We can’t think of anything.
